This week, City Cast audio producer Lizzie Goldsmith is taking us on a tour of her old stomping grounds in the ‘burbs: Englewood!
Downtown Englewood: If you hop off the light rail at the Englewood Station, you’ll find yourself at CityCenter, which is an especially great place to visit this time of year for events like the Summer Markets and the SunSET Concert Series.
Centennial Park: A great lakeside loop in its own right, plus you can easily access the Mary Carter Greenway Trail along the South Platte River.
🏊♀️ Pirates Cove: Get your summer fun started early at Englewood’s only water park, which opens for the season this Saturday, May 27!
🛍️ South Broadway: Catch a show at the Gothic Theatre or indulge in a surplus of shopping (and I’m not just talking about the Army Surplus store), from handmade jewelry at Sarah DeAngelo Jewelry to menswear at the family-owned Ted’s Clothiers. Kitschy Witch Vintage is leaving Englewood, but don’t miss their fill-a-bag sale this Saturday.
🍴 Broadway Eats: This section of Broadway is rich in great restaurants too! Grab breakfast at Jalapeños or Breakfast on Broadway. If you’re just looking for your daily java, check out Mango Tree Coffee. ZOMO has delicious American/Vietnamese food, and Fellow Traveler is your go-to for all things vegan. You can’t go wrong with Garibaldi Mexican Bistro either. Then, end your day with custom drinks at Devil’s Head Distillery.
