| 🥨 Happy Hour Hot Pretzel | For one of the Denver metro’s butteriest hot pretzels, head over to Lariat Lodge Brewing Co. in Littleton (or Evergreen) to try the hot pretzel and beer cheese from their happy hour menu! Pair the $8 “Gus’s Perfect Pretzel” with a 32 oz pitcher of beer for the same price, and enjoy the pretty views from their patio! Happy hour is from 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. | | 🎥 Lights, Camera, 48 Hours of Action! | Calling all aspiring film makers! The 48 Hour Film Project is coming back to Denver the last weekend of July. The team you assemble will have 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film based on a mystery genre and details chosen at the Friday night kickoff. The following weekend there’s a premier screening to see your film on the big screen at The Bug! The best film goes on to compete at Filmapalooza in March 2027 and is eligible for a spot at the Cannes Film Festival. Moviestars, assemble! | | 🍜 Late Night Ramen | Craving a big bowl of ramen after normal dinner hours? Look no further than Neko Ramen & Rice, open till 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 12 a.m. Friday through Sunday. This Colorado Boulevard spot has some seriously tasty ramen options and a good assortment of rice bowls and appetizers if you’re not feeling soup-y. Ramen is an all-season food, people. | | 🤫 Secret Sunday Shopping Spot | If you’re hitting the Highlands Farmers Market on Sundays, make sure to also check out GoodKid Collective’s Secret Market, hosted in their parking lot on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. The secret market has vintage clothes, handmade art, coffee, food, jewelry, and so much more to enjoy! Located on 32nd Avenue, Goodkid is a perfect stop along an idyllic Sunday stroll through the neighborhood. | | 🍗 New Chicken Spot Just Dropped | For the fans of what chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber are doing over at Riot BBQ, check out their new concept called Chicken Riot over in Cherry Creek. We recommend the Pollo Loco or Pollo Pibil, with cornbread, black beans, and rice. You can get a full plate for $20! | | 🌃 Night Market (Calling All K-Pop Fans) | Check out the Havana Street Night Market on the last Saturday of the month (July 25) from 6-10 p.m. Enjoy fun for the whole family like food trucks, tchotchkes, enamel pins, K-Pop dancing, and so much more. | What Colorado Activity Would You Do 150 Times? |
| | Chipotle’s heyday may have come and gone, but the original location on Evans Avenue is still going strong (the now-public company’s share price? Not so much). (Photo by Cyrus McCrimmon / The Denver Post via Getty Images) |
| | | To celebrate Colorado’s 150th birthday, we decided to ask ourselves…what’s something we would do 150 times in this state because it's that good? We invited our friend Miriam Moreno, comedian and host of the late night show Goodnight Denver, to help us brainstorm what’s 150-peat worthy in the Mile High. | | Finding Treasures At Arc Thrift Stores | Olivia’s pick for something worth doing 150 times in Denver is hitting up the Arc Thrift Stores all around the metro. Even though she’s probably already done it 150 times, there’s always something new to find on the next 150 or so trips to check out second-hand wares. Did you know the Arc is one of the largest employers of folks with disabilities in the nation, and 100 million pounds of goods are diverted from landfills each year thanks to Arc? P.S., even on the 4th of July, the weekly 50% off Saturday sale is still happening at Arcs around town! | | Bike Rides, Vintage Stores, an Old School Movie House, and Burritos | Paul went wild with this one, because there are a ton of things he’d do 150 times in Denver! Eat Jose Avila’s pozole and tacos. Wander through the vintage stores on South Broadway. Bike the Cherry Creek Trail all the way to the reservoir. Buy a large popcorn and soda for a show in the big room at The Mayan Theater. And one last, especially personal one: feel a pang of nostalgia walking past the first location of Chipotle on Evans. Hey, the chain’s best days may be behind it, but we’ll always have 1993, right? | | A Shady Spot for Hot Springs and Cool Treats | When July rolls around, Miriam is looking for a pool and the 111-year-old Eldorado Springs Resort south of Boulder is her favorite spot. Nestled in a quiet canyon, Eldorado is peaceful and pretty, with plenty of seating. ”Even if you don't get a good seat by the pool, you can go by the lawn and it's right by the river,” Miriam says. But that’s the reasonable adult in her speaking. “If you would've asked me this question when I was 16, I would have said Water World 150 times.” | |
