City Council’s Controversial Votes, a Crowded Race on a Crowded Ballot, and Green Chile Season!
There are ten candidates in the running to fill the vacant at-large city council position. With less than three weeks until election day how are all the candidates setting themselves apart? Denver Post City Government reporter Elliott Wenzler joins Bree Davies to talk about two women in the race running for this short-term position that will be on ballots again next spring. Plus, they go beyond the headlines of some contentious city council votes involving deportation flights and AI chatbots and share their wins and fails of the week. Oh, and if you’re a City Cast Denver Neighbor you get a special segment just for members where Elliott and Bree discuss the best parts about it not being blazing hot in October anymore.
At-large candidates Monica Martinez, Melissa Mejia, and Jake Browne have made appearances on City Cast Denver before. Bree talked about her interview with co-op housing expert Sarah Wells and Queen City Cooperative’s affordable housing model and DPD’s new car crash reporting app.
