This nonprofit provides temporary housing and communication assistance to people who are released from Aurora’s immigration detention center.

Centro provides immigrants in the city with workforce training and development opportunities and direct access to jobs.

Project Worthmore helps local refugee families get settled into the community through language programs, food shares, community navigators, and more.

This nonprofit supports immigrants with disabilities and their families by offering educational training, help navigating social services, and more.

This statewide organization offers opportunities to donate and volunteer to provide legal and health assistance, public education, and policy advocacy.

CRRN deploys trained volunteers to respond to, record, and help navigate ICE interactions. Anyone in the community is welcome to call the hotline at 1-844-864-8341.

This organization accepts donations to help fund and administer grants to qualified nonprofits providing pro-bono or low-bono legal assistance for migrants.

Here in the Mile High, the holidays don’t officially end until the Stock Show does. Whether it’s your first visit or your 80th, Denver’s annual 

deal 🐄 Known locally as “the best 16 days in January,” this year’s event runs January 11-26. Here’s everything you need to know before you go:

Due to construction, Stock Show staff recommend visitors 

. It’s free, there’s a shuttle running to the expo grounds every 20 minutes, and the lot is open from 8 a.m. until an hour after the last rodeo ends. There 

 at the Coliseum, but you'll need to get there early to nab it. Going the public transit route? You’ll want to take 

Grounds admission varies by day of the week, but ranges from $24-37 for adults (12+) and $7-9 for kids 3-11. With 

 you can peruse vendors, food stalls, and the Western Art Gallery, plus catch

This ghost town in Chaffee County is the eerie remnants of a mining boom community. Virtually destroyed by a fire in the late 1800s, St. Elmo was almost totally abandoned by the living by the 1960s — but many believe it remains today as the stomping ground for some eccentric lost souls who can’t seem to leave their hometown.

This fully functioning hotel in Aspen is purportedly haunted by the ghost of a little boy who drowned on the grounds in the 1930s. Guests report seeing apparitions of a dripping wet child who leaves puddles for footprints.

This Gilded Age hotel in Glenwood Springs is supposedly built on a cursed site. Allegedly, the hotel is haunted by decades of ghostly guests trapped on the hallowed grounds.

Out in the middle of nowhere over Kiowa Creek, this desolate road-crossing’s alleged connections to the underworld have attracted cars full of teenagers for decades — some of whom never seem to make it back home.

Situated in the San Luis Valley, this UFO — or UAP (unidentified anomalous phenomena) as they are now known — viewing location is reportedly the best place in the world to have an extraterrestrial experience.

This fully operational city in Teller County is a former mining camp where long-dead spirits allegedly abound — like the father and daughter duo who are rumored to haunt the Imperial Hotel and a childlike ghost who draws on the walls of Buffalo Billy’s Casino.

Who’s ready for some football?! The Denver Broncos’ first home game of the season is Sept. 15 

. If you’re planning on heading out to the Mile High stadium, I’ve got you covered on where to park, where to pre-game, and how to enjoy a whole day in the neighborhood.

There are over a dozen official stadium lots, boasting some 6,500 spaces. The stadium’s website lists them all, complete with 

 are available to the public on gameday on a first-come, first-served basis. The rest are reserved for season ticket holders with pre-purchased parking permits.

Nearby venues — including Ball Arena, the Auraria Campus, the Denver Aquarium, Riverside Church, and Elitches — offer 

 for a fee of around $15-35 and a 20ish-minute walk to the stadium. These lots typically open to the public about four hours prior to kickoff.

Just southeast of Ballpark and butting up against the edges of Five Points, there is 

 — an unofficial downtown neighborhood known mostly for being the longtime home of community mainstay 

 since 1990. But with the recent announcement that the Merc is 

, we found ourselves reflecting on how much has changed in the area over the last decade and a half — for better or worse — including the appearance of several new businesses bringing some fresh charm to this unique little slice of downtown.

Formerly a go-to gathering spot for Denver’s LGBTQ+ community, the space at 2036 N. Broadway was last known as Triangle Bar. The popular gay bar 

 last year, citing safety concerns related to homeless encampments in the area. In May of this year, the space 

, this time as a Latin dance club committed to spinning the hottest reggaetón, banda, and salsa tracks, as well as hosting concert after-parties.

The Lobby opened in the historic structure at 2191 Arapahoe Street in 2009, but the buzzy brunch spot is celebrating a more recent victory. The owners, Cory Schwab and Christian Batizy, now 

 — all 6,000 square feet of it! Keep an eye out for big plans and renovations to come.

This local brewery made its big debut at 2210 California Street 

. The taproom is expansive, beautifully decked out with polished redwood furnishings, and has developed a following for its 

, growing its square footage with a music venue, more event space, and a canning line.

Touted as one of the most promising new businesses reinvigorating the area, 

 for eclectic snacks, fresh deli sandos, and a few household necessities launched in March 2023 at 613 22nd Street. It came at a time when the Five Points community was 

still mourning the loss of two other local fixtures
