This week on Denver’s dining scene: Nine local restaurants that just got a tip of the hat from the Michelin Guide; why Denver’s annual Labor Day food festival was canceled; and the latest city to approve sippin' while strollin'!

⭐ We don’t yet know which Colorado restaurants will be awarded a coveted Michelin star (that’s set to be announced Sept. 12), but while we wait to find out, Michelin Guide gave an honorary Bib Gourmand stamp to these nine metro Denver establishments. [Westword]

  • Local foodies feel at least a little resentful that Aurora — arguably the metro area’s most deliciously diverse community that is also home to a Colorado James Beard Award star — is not being considered by the Guide. [Denver Post]

Streets. [9News]

🥂 Arvada city council unanimously approved Olde Town to become an entertainment district which will allow the city’s downtown area to be closed to motor traffic and permit common consumption — aka walking around with boozy beverage in-hand! [BusinessDen]

  • Denver approved common consumption licensing two years ago, but as of yet, no businesses have taken advantage of the program. [Westword]

🏟️ A ramen bar, doughnut wall, Little Man ice cream, and banh mis are the latest bites to join the food roster at Empower Field just ahead of football season. [Westword]
