This week, host Bree Davies takes a trek to the Golden Triangle. This little patch of Central Denver can often feel like one big construction zone, but beyond all the cranes, there are tons of excellent hangouts offering some of the best ambiance in the city! Here are Bree’s GT highlights:
🍷 Somewhere To Sip And Snack:“If you wanna impress an out-of-town visitor or a first date,Leven Deli Co.is the place! Plants hang from the warm wood ceiling, and in the summer, their blue and white umbrellas make you feel like you’re sitting on a patio in New York City. Beyond Leven’s Instagrammable façade, there’s an amazing drink menu featuring spritzes, shandies, Palomas, and a never-ending wine list, plus coffees, teas, and coolers for N/A drinkers like myself. Grab one of their fresh baked pastries for breakfast, a hunk of their in-house dry age pastrami on rye for lunch, or their marinated beet bruschette at Happy Hour.”
🌴 Somewhere To Chow Down:“My old school, go-to, ride-or-die Golden Triangle staple isCuba Cuba. This 20+ year-old restaurant makes its home in two brightly colored conjoined Victorians (with an ultra-modern, yet equally cozyMayor’s Design Award-winning patio) and transports you from Denver’s bustling downtown to the chill beaches of the Caribbean. Drinks here are also some of the best — alcoholic or not, their extensive mojito menu and after-dinner coffee selections exclusively featuring Cafe Bustelo are dessert in themselves. I also recommend the empanadas, paella, maduros, and flan.”
❤️ Somewhere To Support:“Harm Reduction Action Center helps our community members who use drugs by providing a non-judgmental space for nourishment, clean and safe supplies, healthcare and social services navigation, and more. You can donate money, buy items from their Amazon wishlist, orvolunteerto be a part of their regular neighborhood clean-up events.”
🥃 Other Neighborhood Faves:“Golden Triangle is museum central! Check out: TheDAM,The Clyfford Still,The Kirkland,History Colorado, and theCenter for Colorado Women’s History. Looking for more places to eat? Hit upLo Stella Ristorantefor legit Italian cuisine (Peyton’s recent reviewwill get you salivating 🤤) or Pints Pub for wings, burgers, ‘chips’, Sassenach Sashimi, or allegedly the ‘World’s Largest Single Malt Whisky Selection Outside Britain’!”
