Farmers markets have officially returned for the season! Stalls of plump produce, fresh-baked breads, and homemade jams will line streets, parks, and plazas across the state as local purveyors haul the season’s harvest into the city. There are literally dozens of markets taking place every single week beginning now through October, so here are a few places to start 👇

🗓️ Markets That Are Open Now!

Most Colorado farmers markets don’t open until May, but a few have already kicked off the season.

🐶 Markets That Allow Dogs

Don’t make the assumption that Fluffy can tag along — not all markets are pet-friendly! But you can rest assured that these picks will welcome your well-behaved pup.

🎶 Markets Offering a Little Something Extra

It doesn’t get better than fresh, locally sourced food and handcrafted wares, right? Oh, but it does! These markets go above and beyond in their offerings and entertainment.

💡 Some Tips to Know Before You Go:

  • Get a sneak peek: Most markets list their vendors and entertainment schedules on their website
  • Know what you’re shopping for: Go prepared knowing what produce is currently in season — check out the Colorado Produce Guide for info!
  • Take a lap: It’s easy to get excited, but start with a “just looking” lap to get a feel for all your options
  • Bring cash: Though many vendors these days can accept cards, it’s good to have cash and small change on hand
  • BYOBags: Bring your own reusable bags with lots of room!
  • Go early: Lest some vendors will have sold out and all the best looking produce will be picked over
  • Ask questions: Most vendors love to talk about their product! And now’s your chance to really get to know where your food comes from.
  • Know your payment options: Most of metro Denver’s markets accept food benefits, such as SNAP, WIC, and Double Up Bucks
